Hello lovelies! 💗
Recently, I have spent time reflecting on the different lessons I’ve learnt from the past few years. Life is long and you may already be familiar with some of these lessons, however, I hope that you find them encouraging and relatable to your personal growth.
- Don’t be afraid to try something new because you never know where it could lead to.
- Write things down i.e. memories, goals, and ideas.
- Read whatever you can get your hands on.
- Do not believe everything you are told or read online and find reputable secondary sources. This is especially on social media platforms and copy and pasted messages.
- Back-up your writing in multiple places.
- You are in full control of your reactions and responses.
- Walks as short as 20 minutes can have an impact on your frame of mind.
- People can change for the better or the worse.
- Express gratitude every day, this could be for the roof over your head, the people in your life, or your favourite TV show on Netflix.
- Eat your dinner at least three hours before going to bed.
- Actions speak louder than words.
- Do not make a promise when you are happy. I’ve made the mistake of believing people who made a promise in the hype of a moment but repeatedly failed to keep their word.
- Make daily to-do lists. It will increase your productivity and motivation as well as improve your memory which is beneficial for both your professional and personal life.
- If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
- Never be ashamed to ask for help.
- Good credit makes life a little bit easier. For example, you will have more negotiating power when applying for credit cards and loans (lower interest rates).
- Life doesn’t always go how you planned.
- Acts of kindness are never forgotten.
- Treasure your loved ones. This could be your family, friends, partner, colleagues – those that treat you with respect and honesty.
- Every achievement is a blessing so celebrate them all.
- Take responsibility for your vices.
- Patience is key and usually pays off in the end.
- People will normally take those that are closest to them for granted.
- Say “No” to unpaid work such as non-paid internships. It’s irrelevant if you’re from a rich or poor background or if the employers are from Walt Disney, any and all kinds of work should be compensated. If you’re worth the employment, you should be worth the paycheck.
- If your best isn’t enough, then part ways.
- Never let one day go without saying “I love you” (including to yourself).

Wonderful advice there 💯 would like to share another point based on a recent conversation I had with a friend.
That is, we should always try to lift others and celebrate their success. Don’t get jealous of them because you will never know the struggles they have faced to get there. So, feel happy for others wholeheartedly and you will attract positivity to your own life. If not, when it is our time to shine, no one will be there to celebrate with us.

Thank you for reading and commenting on this post, Abirami 🤗 I’m touched that you think the advice shared here is helpful.
Absolutely! That is an important lesson to always uplift others and celebrate their successes 💪 When we radiate positivity and genuine happiness for others, it will be returned. Everyone’s journey is different and will reach their own achievements. Thank you for adding to this list ♡ sounds like a wonderful conversation you shared with your friend.
Hope everything is well with you and I look forward to reading more of your writing 🤩

Good points all. Though I would add an exception to #24 – “…unless it is part of an educational program from the school in which you are enrolled and for which you will receive credit.”
For example, I did two short-term (one week!) internships as part of one of my degrees. Both led to job opportunities – one of which I accepted.

Hi Lorne! Thank you for reading this post and for adding an exception to No. 24 💪 I wholly agree with you that as part of an educational program and where the student receives credit – an unpaid internship is rewarding. That’s so great to hear that your internships during studies benefited you well and led to job opportunities 🤩
I appreciate you sharing your experience and in full honesty, I would have liked to do a placement as part of my degree during university ♡ Thank you for your thoughtful comment, I appreciate it 😊

Some programs just aren’t conducive to a job experience component. Though I think it is becoming increasingly common.

#12 hit me in the feels, spot on!
And a footnote on number #13, make sure your daily tedious tasks, align with an ultimate objective/higher purpose that you are passionate about.
An example, would be, I don’t just want to workout to be “healthy” that is too vague. I want to live to see my daughter go to the prom, graduate college, get married, have children of her own, etc. But I don’t just want to see this, I want to be able to keep up with them! I have a father who is basically a walking zombie due to all the heart medication he has to take. He is a shell of his former self unfortunately. I do not want this to happen to me. Therefore, this ambition, or higher purpose, will force me through the mundane. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the post!

Thank you for reading and your thoughts on this post, Joe!
That’s a really great footnote to #13, one that I did not consider and I appreciate you adding it on 🤩 Your example speaks true that to be “healthy” means a lot more than just the word/implication but to be an active participant of future experiences and memories. They are all emotional occasions to look forward to, one that I’m sure your daughter is also excited to share 💗 My sincerest apologies to hear about your father. It is admirable that you are so motivated to prevent the same thing from happening to you and your family.
Yes, your example has definitely helped!! Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and sharing your advice 🤗 I wish you all the best for the future.

These are some very insightful lessons. I particularly resonate with #12. Don’t make a promise when you’re happy, don’t reply when your angry and don’t decide when you’re sad. Take some time to digest the situation before taking any action.
Keep up the great work on your blog!

Thank you so much for reading and your kind comment! 💕 That’s a wonderful continuation for #12! I agree with it, especially “Don’t reply when you’re angry”, as a lot can be easily said that can hurt someone in the heat of a moment but will be much harder to take back. Thank you for your encouragement and motivation, I am incredibly grateful!! ♡

“Life doesn’t always go how you planned” – You can say that again!
These are fantastic. Some really, really poignant ones here. I absolutely agree with how if something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. We should trust our gut instinct and ourselves a little more.
Have a lovely weekend xx
