Happy Tuesday lovelies! ☀️
So, I gleefully stumbled across this treasure on JenJenreReviews and wanted to participate in the fun 🙂 If you are unfamiliar with this tag, I suggest checking out Jenny’s post – it is an awesome read! The creator of this tag is the YouTuber, tia and all the books.
Questions and Answers
1. ADAPTATION SNOB: Do you always read the book before watching the film/TV show?
Hmmm…I would have to say not always. Sometimes I watch a film or TV series, oblivious that it is an adaptation until I look at its Wikipedia page. Then I start to become interested in reading the original text and finding the differences between the two versions ✨ I love discovering new books through films or TV series.
2. FORMAT SNOB: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?
I’ve previously touched on this in my The Inside and Out Book Tag. I prefer the weight and feel of a physical novel, not to mention, I admire the front and back cover designs too. But there’s no doubt that using an ebook or audiobook is the more convenient option when performing other activities such as travelling and doing chores.
3. SHIP SNOB: Would you date or marry a non-reader?
Interesting question! While it is fun to discuss and bond over books that you’ve previously read with your partner, I don’t think it is a dealbreaker quality. Everyone has their own interests so it shouldn’t be faulted. I believe that it is more important to encourage and motivate each other’s hobbies and passions 💕
4. GENRE SNOB: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?
Oooh, this is a toughy! I enjoy reading all kinds of genres including fiction, fantasy, thriller, etc. 😋 However I would choose to ditch horror because it would haunt me for weeks and I can be scared quite easily!
5. UBER GENRE SNOB: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?
I think this would be an interesting question to ask every couple of years because I feel like our answers would constantly change or maybe it is just me? 😂 My preference has shifted from fantasy to romance to crime etc. But today, I would have to pick thriller! I love the tension and the fast pace when an event is unravelling.
6. COMMUNITY SNOB: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?
It may be a toss-up between Young Adults and Romance. Do you agree? While I have personally been reading fewer Young Adult novels these days, I do not understand why people feel the need to look down on books that fall under these genres. I think that is quite ill-mannered to ruin someone else’s enjoyment.

It is a happenstance. For me, sometimes the movie then the book or just the opposite.

I like that word “happenstance”. 😄 The perfect description! That is very true that it depends on the timing/moment.

These questions are great! Would you date or marry a non-reader 😂 I did actually date a guy that I never would have though I would have dated because of how different we were. I read a lot, he read the ingredients on a health shake (while I drink a milkshake). I suppose sometimes reading forms a bigger part of who you are, and sometimes it’s just one element that we can share with others. Thankfully we did have films and music in common so there was still plenty to talk about!
Loved reading your answers!

Hi Caz! 💕
Thank you for reading this blog post – I’m glad to hear that you like these questions. They were incredibly fun to ponder about and answer 😋
I appreciate your insight and sharing your experience of dating someone with a contrasting interest in reading to you. That’s an amusing and cute picture to imagine of someone reading the packaging of a health shake from the side as you’re drinking from it 😄 Yeah, I believe that there is still plenty to talk about and films and music are great for bonding over 💗
Thank you for your comment! 🤗 Have a blessed week! ☀️

Myself I have no preference for 1 (although I think I am always disappointed by the incongruities) 2 Love everything about physical books, but fall for the convenience of ebooks lol 3 Readers are definitely better conversationalist! 4 Self Help 5 Fantasy!!!! 6 ?? Celebrity Book Lists maybe? Thanks for this post!!

Hi Matthew! 😊 Thank you for reading this post and for sharing your own answers to the questions. It is interesting going through them! Both physical books and e-reader feels good in your hands for different reasons aha! ♡ You can never go wrong with a nice fantasy novel – wonderful guilty pleasures! I agree with you that celebrity books can receive a lot of snobbery from the reading community. Thank you again! I hope you are well and having a fantastic week ☀️

I like your answers. #3 is an interesting one. For me, particularly given the climate of political discourse today, I actually think what is more telling is not whether or not a person reads books, but whether or not a person reads articles and commentaries from a wide variety of publications, including ones that challenge their view points. A no on that is a bigger deal-breaker for me than whether or not a person reads books.

Hi JYP! 😄 I hope you are well 💕 Thank you for reading this post and for your insightful comment. I 100% completely agree with your opinion of #3 that it is more important to read a variety of articles from different professional and reputable publications. Even if it challenges your opinion and requires you to be open-minded. It will help build a more well-rounded and educated perception on events and beliefs. That is a much bigger factor to consider as opposed to whether you read books or not. I sincerely appreciate your comment, it has made my day! ✨ Have a blessed week!
