How to Improve Your Memory

This guide will describe a few easy and natural methods to help improve your memory.

It is a natural occurrence for everyone to have moments of forgetfulness as we grow older and life becomes more hectic. However at crucial times, it can be frustrating when you forget clear details or where you left your house keys or mobile phone. Thus, it is important to regularly exercise your brain and strengthen your memory now more than ever β™₯ Let’s get started!

3 Tips on How to Improve Your Memory

Stay Mentally Active

Just like working out keeps your body strong and toned, mentally stimulating activities can keep your psyche in shape and prevent memory loss. Exercising your cognitive skills by playing brain games (i.e. crossword puzzles), learning a new skill, or meditating is a fun and effective way to boost your memory.

According to a study of 4,715 people conducted by USA.gov, doing 15 minutes of online brain training five days a week significantly improves your short-term memory, working memory, and problem-solving skills.

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a mental state of awareness in which you identify and feel immersed in your emotions and surroundings. It is known to be effective at lowering stress as well as enhancing concentration and memory.

Start incorporating mindfulness techniques into your daily routine. For example, focus on your breathing, experience your environment with all of your senses (i.e. sight, touch, hearing, etc.), and gently reset your attention when your subconscious wanders.

Identify and Treat Health Problems

Memory loss is not just associated with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. There are several illnesses, mental health disorders, and medications that can, unfortunately, interfere with your memory. This includes heart disease, diabetes, and hormone imbalance.

Follow your doctor’s recommended treatments and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep your memory sharpened. Furthermore, make sure to regularly review prescribed medications with your doctor.

      To answer your questions:
      – My name is Genevieve.
      – I originally started my blog as a way to share my creative writing (flash fiction) and to meet other bloggers. It’s been a wonderful experience and I love reading everyone’s stories and creativity.
      – In 2022, I hope to accomplish writing a few personal letters to loved ones, using a new typewriter that my best friend gifted me.
It was so much fun answering your questions and I look forward to discovering more blogs that you recommend. Thank you again for the opportunity πŸ’• I wish you an amazing week ahead. Take care lovely! ✨😊 xx
