Best Drinks for Detox and Body Cleansing

Our bodies are built to handle and detox as many toxins through the liver, colon, and kidneys. However, we are still exposed to harmful elements from our environment, food, and chemicals every day. Plus, certain lifestyles can hinder our natural detoxification system.

To combat this, a regular intake of simple detox drinks can be beneficial to our health for rejuvenation. It can aid in weight loss, boost metabolism, and improve digestion, which is highly sought-after. Here are my 5 best drinks for detox and body cleansing.

Body Cleansing and Detox Drinks

Start your detox and body cleansing today with these refreshing and easy-to-make beverages.

An easy way to maintain a healthy system is to drink water daily as it dissolves toxins and waste particles, essentially flushing them out. Furthermore, a study from 2003 found that just 500ml of water increases our metabolic rate up to 30%, which contributes to successful weight loss.

Cucumber Mint

Mint improves the flow of bile in the stomach and speeds the digestion process. Then when combined with cucumber and lemon, this revitalising concoction can soothe upset stomachs and toxic overload. Cucumber contains vitamins C and E, making it helpful for preventing acne breakouts and inflammation.

Ginger Tea

This popular detox drink reduces bloating, increases circulation, and boosts working memory (more info is available here). For extra flavour, you can mix it with honey and lemon. It is my favourite alternative medicine for treating sore throats and colds.

Pomegranate Juice

Pomegranate is a water-based fruit with electrolytes. According to the NCBI, pomegranate juice has a higher antioxidant activity than green tea and red wine. Many people find this drink useful for detoxing after a heavy meal to cleanse their bodies. It is also great to consume this in the morning as it is really hydrating, and its nutrients get absorbed on an empty stomach.

Tulsi (Basil) Water

Loaded with hypoglycaemic properties, this beverage is suitable for people with diabetes as it helps manage blood sugar levels in the body. In addition, it acts as an antidote for stress-related disorders and improves brain function, which you can sip on throughout the day.
