Ho ho ho! Only five days to go until Christmas. I would like you to join me in getting into the holiday spirit with this oldie-but-goodie Christmas tag.

Without further ado, here is everything I love most about Christmas.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

Oooh, this is a tricky question because I have several Christmas movies that I love to watch in December. For example, The Santa Clause, How to Grinch Stole Christmas, and Home Alone 1 & 2 for merrymaking and childhood nostalgia. But this year, I’ve gotten into Christmas romantic comedies such as The Holiday and While You Were Sleeping. 

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

To my recollection, I haven’t experienced a white Christmas. However, I thought that the UK would have one as it snowed quite heavily last week ❄️ Despite the snow settling for a few days, everything has sadly melted away.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

I spend every Christmas with my parents. It is usually at home or another family member’s house, but on occasion, we’ve gone on a mini Christmas break in the country.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

There’s no better way to get into the festive season than by blasting different Christmas carols as soon as December 1st rolls around 🎶 “Do they know it’s Christmas?” by Band Aid has a special place in my heart.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Let’s see…Dancer, Prancer, Dasher, Blitzen, Vixen…and can’t forget Rudolph! Which others have I missed out?

What Christmas traditions are you looking forward to this year?

One standout tradition my family and I have is that we each open one present on Christmas Eve. It started when I was little and would get over-excited on Christmas Eve, so to satiate my eagerness for a few more hours, I was allowed to unwrap one of the presents. Now, it is something that we do every year.

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

Honestly, I prefer giving more than receiving as I love shopping for people’s birthdays, Christmas, special occasions, etc. and finding presents they will appreciate.

I am extremely lucky to have been blessed with an amazing family and friends who constantly make me feel valued ❤ But if I had to pick, one of the best Christmas gifts that I ever received was tickets to the Harry Potter studio tour.

Most memorable Christmas memory?

My most memorable Christmas memory is celebrating Christmas and Boxing Day with my mother’s side of the family, i.e. grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins. There were 14 of us under one roof. It was total mania, and I loved every second of it. I treasure the non-stop laughter and picture-taking, and delicious food and drink.

What made you realise the truth about Santa?

What is the truth? I still believe in Santa and the power of Christmas magic, and the elves who work hard all year round for children on the “Nice” list 🎅 

What makes the holidays special for you?

Generally, I love everything associated with Christmas – films, songs, decorations, traditions, and food. But the joyful ambience and people surrounding me make the holidays special. Furthermore, everyone aims to be better and kinder individuals during Christmas.

What don’t you like about Christmas?

The only thing I don’t like about Christmas is the financial strain and social pressure it causes for so many people. I highly recommend reading “13 ways to reduce holiday stress” by Ramsey Solutions. It features helpful tips for having a cheerful Christmas and setting boundaries.
